Pineto is a cozy and quiet seaside town, located on the Abruzzo coast, about 20 km north of Pescara. The particularity of Pineto is given by the beautiful and lush pine forest (from which it takes its name, cause “pineto” means pinewood) bordering the sea and its beach of fine sand for over 4 kilometers. The pine forest, completely isolated from vehicular traffic, equipped in more places with games and entertainment for children, and the adjacent cycling and walking track, make Pineto a unique town and particularly suitable for families with children, eager to spend a sea holiday far away from stress, in a quiet, relaxing and particularly safe environment. On the Pineto beach it is possible to choose between free beaches or beaches equipped with umbrellas and many bathhouses. The stretches of free beach are numerous and wide, and alternate with beaches with bathhouses (for payment) along the entire length of the splendid sandy beach. In Pineto there is also another beautiful 9 km long bike lane, which develops towards the north along the beach. In summer in Pineto many different events take place: festivals, concerts, markets, fairs, theater, fairy tales in the children's park, entertainment for adults and children and fitness on the beach. An important historical monument in Pineto is the “Torre di Cerrano” (the Cerrano Tower), built in the 16th century, one of the best preserved coastal fortresses in the entire Abruzzo Riviera, which currently houses the headquarters of a Marine Biology Center. Other important monuments of Pineto are the Villa Filiani, built during the nineteenth century, currently owned by the municipality, which belonged to an ancient and aristocratic rich family of Pineto, from which the villa takes its name and the Church Sant'Agnese, built over the years 20 of the last century. Numerous restaurants, holiday farms, bars, ice cream parlors and seaside chalets make Pineto pleasant to live even in the evening, thanks also to the city center which from 9.00 pm becomes completely pedestrian and pleasant for quiet walks with the whole family.
